Just Some Scary Movie

15 years ago, Drew Barrymore kicked off one of the most successful horror movie franchises of all time by answering the phone. Just in time for tomorrow’s release of Scream 4, we have a new batch of Scream memorabilia to share! Included are two items used to promote the movie in its original 1996 release: a promotional/screening card featuring the rare variant poster artwork as well as a phone card (remember those?). We also have two brand new pieces that have been released just in the past few months. There’s a gorgeous illustrated mini-poster from HorrorHound Magazine featuring most of the first movie’s cast, and a screening copy of the TV special Scream: The Inside Story that was generously given to us by the show’s producers. It’s a scream, baby!

  1. I just ordered my copy of HorrorHound, love the illustration! Would love to find something with that variant poster artwork – definitely on my want list! The phone card is cool! Such a nice bonus to have the screening copy. Overall, awesome update! Looking forward to seeing Scream 4 this weekend. I remember when the project was first announced and how a lot of people had their doubts, but it looks like it’s going to be good!! :)

  2. You’re Scream collection is so awesome! Curious to know what is on the DVD…

  3. And the first card you have on the update is the closest picture of Drew out of all the Scream posters I’ve seen. There is no doubt that it is Drew. Just look at those lips!

    • There isn’t much in the way of rare Drew-ness in the Inside Story special. There is one rare still (which we posted on Facebook this morning) and at the end during the credits, some VERY brief footage of her on set with Wes & Kevin Williamson. Everything else can be found on the Scream dvds. But it’s great to hear everyone talking about how vital she was to the movie!

Awhile back I figured out what photo of Drew was used for the Scream poster and some lovely person made a great video illustrating it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1n34eQtXuU

  4. Totally love your website, with all the rare and exclusive stuff

    Keep up the good work

  5. cool video! I knew there was a reason why I loved that mag so much!
